I’ve read books by each of these authors and really enjoyed the experience Goolrick and Gruen, in particularso I was sold!
Her older sister, Rose, is both a help and a hindrance yet she has no one else to help her in her quest so Sylvie is forced to rely on Rose. There were actually pages yb I sped through because I wanted to be done with the book, foe trust me te I say I guarantee I didn’t miss anything.
A bright girl who is very intuitive.
She is attuned to what people want from herespecially flr parents and focuses on delivering it. If you like a brilliantly written scary book, one with interesting characters and a puzzle of a mystery, pick this one up.
I had a few small issues with this story, but I was still very happy I got to read this novel. A somber, well-paced journey, wrapped in a jjohn, that will keep readers guessing until the revealing conclusion.

I think that with a clearer focus and some editing out of plodding, repetitive scenes, the book could have been amazing. What’s not to love? It would also make a terrific movie. Sylvie was a delight and Rose was often quit comical.
However, as Gina’s week in Florence unfolds and the party draws near, a terrible discovery is made. Searles over-relies on external markers to delineate her, such as, music taste. Disclaimer included as required by the FTC.

Well done — hauntex sure to read it. I’m obviously in the minority as far as reviews of this book, but I guess “to each his own”. It means all we do here on earth- the going and coming, the loving and hating- it is all for naught.
Often horrifying, definitely upon occasion very creepy dor yet searls an elegance and depth to it that will resonate, this is absolutely one of the best books I have read this year.
And for us, as people, our very destiny hinges upon which one we elect to follow. Although I have to admitif you sit down and think about it after you read ityou will realize that it isn’t always plausible and depends on some gimmicks. Mar 15, Dan Radovich rated it it was amazing. From that point on, nothing is ever the same for Sylvie.
The author holds a couple carrots in front of the reader – the doll, the “possessed” items, among others – but doesn’t allow them to reach their full potential. Help for the Haunted 1 2 Apr 29, Extremely well drawn both, they provide the anchor around which all else te, in a tale that is at turns enchanting and alarming. Hence the loss of stars.
The quality of the writing tye just amazing.
And yet something in Sylvie senses that this call is different from seales others, especially when they are lured to the old church on the outskirts of town.
