Tratado de fonologia y fonetica españolas by Antonio Quilis
From a pedagogical standpoint, the book launches into fonetoca explanation of phonological concepts such as complementary distribution and neutralization before even touching on the basics of phonetics like mode and place of articulation, giving examples that will make little sense to a student who has not seen these concepts. After this brief overview of phonology in the first chapter, phonological processes are glossed over through the rest of the book. Given that the last edition of the book came out in it has been reprinted but not revised since thenit will come as no surprise that none of the advances in phonological theory of the last 40 years are reflected there.
The text also lacks any discussion of morphology.

And without a native speaker and a recording device, the student cannot take full advantage of the information contained within. There’s a problem loading this menu right now.
