Aug 25, 06erikm rated it it was amazing Shelves: Erec rex 4 – the three furies Author Kaza Kingsley Pages The book takes place much in alypium, a magic city with a golden dome that keeps the weathere perfect.

It also takes place in part in underground aorth and “otherness”, where the monsters live. Erec rex is the main character. He is destined to be king of alypium, but he must finish twelve quests first.

The main issue in the story is that Baskania is trying to get immense power, but he will destroy the world with it. By accident, supposedly Erec is trying to stop him while still doing his quests.

Baskania also is trying to free the three furies, powerful beings, who are locked in tartarus. The book is told in the third person. I liked that, because I couldn’t imagine Erec telling the story about himself. It would take away all the suspense, because you would know he made it.

That’s another thing I liked about the book, that it was very intense. You never could know if Erec would make it. Something I didn’t like about the book was the dialouge didn’t sound very real. They would often say “did not” instead of didn’t, and no one talks like that anymore. I believe that one theme of the book is that Loyalty to your friends is important.

Erec shows this often, as he goes out of his way to help his friends, especially when he rescues bethany. The intended audience is probably teen-age fantasy lovers.

The book is clearly fantasy, with magic, dragons, and many references to greek and roman mythology. The greek references make the book very unique. It uses many greek elements without making it a second Percy Jackson.

I thought that this book was amazing. Eeec could barely put it down, even to eat dinner or go to sleep. I definately reccomend it to anyone who loves fantasy Jul 14, Cynthia rated it really liked it Shelves: The more I get into this series the more I like it. Originally I found too many similarities with Harry Potter, rx as the series moves along I enjoy the characters more and more and the interesting twists in the plot though some are a little strange.

Erec’s quests are always entertaining and this book has a couple of surprises that I didn’t see coming as Erec completes his fifth and sixth quests. A lot of fun and perfect for older readers. May 23, Stacy rated it really liked it Shelves: I am relly enjoying this series. I like the way ERec is growing up and it is still clean and fun and exciting. Aug 22, Elli rated it it was amazing Thrwe This book is so great!

I couldn’t wait to get this book. I liked it so much I finished it in a day. Mar 30, Oridisi rated it it was amazing. It was excellent better than I expected, can’t wait for the others to come out.

Jun 21, Laurel Fischback added it. Good as the first one. That’s a true sign of a good book. Feb 18, Danielle rated it it was amazing. Still really like this series, read this ereec in 2 days. Nov 08, Mindy rated it liked three Shelves: Sep 06, Tyler Mahaney rated it it was amazing. Apr 27, Ethan Muhlestein rated it it was amazing. Erec Rex then also has to go and thinks he needs to sacrifice himself for a quest.

But before that quest the three fates give him advice to free Bethany from Baskinga before he kills her. This furied for sure furries in a whole lot of plot holes that have been there the whole series.

One of the potholes filled was why these people keep following Danny and Sammy and it finally explained what happened in the most bizarre way ever.

Also one other thing that I liked was that Erec Rex was learning to do magic and then he could do some cool things with the magic and I hope they keep it up in the next book. Sometimes I am reading and all tyree a sudden it jumps to something else with out and reason why. But on another note, Kaza Kingsley was really good with giving suspension and making you keep wanting to read the book. This book was a pretty good book that kept me reading and it was really interesting. I think that the life lesson of this book was to follow instructions when needed.

Because in the book thtee three fates who can predict the future tell Erec what to do. But what they tell him to do sounds horrible like he will die, but in the end it works out and saves a lot of people. Dec 19, Michelle rated it really tjree it.

The writing still feels rushed. I appreciate that 2 quests are finished every book, so it’s not drawn out into a 12 book series O.

But they feel dumbed down and lacking depth. Mar 08, Kess rated it really liked it. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. A lot erev stuff got resolved and so many things good happen, so that’s good.

However there are two more books, so obviously everything’s not good, so that is bad.

The Three Furies

Anyway, I would suggest this book to people that have extra time and think they want to have to read six books. Jun 08, Cecilia Rodriguez rated it it was ok.

Kingley’s plot relies heavily upon Rowling’s: Nov 25, Sheila rated it it was amazing. Although this is 4th in the series, I think that so far it is the best. Erec Rex working through quests to become king, with fantastic creatures to help him is a fun read! Great book My 11 year old son loves this series! I highly recommend it for those who enjoyed Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, etc! Feb 17, Cameron added it. Erek was in Alypium to complete the 12 quests he need to become the prince of Alypium, he needed to be the evil person that fjries also competing to be prince.

Erek came home to New Jersey or Upper earth as they call it. Bethany has been writing him letter’s since he came home and he has not returned any of them. He soon figures out that it was not in fact Bethany writing the letters but the dark prince that had captured her book 1- Alecto the Angry This book begins the next chapter of this series.

He soon figures out that it was not thrfe fact Bethany writing the letters but the dark prince that had captured her to torture her for information about Erek. Once he realized that he went back to Alympium to save her.

In Alympium everyone has a magical gift, this book makes me think thre what magical gift I would like to have. I would recommend this book to my friends it is very interesting and keeps your attention through out the whole story.

One lesson I learned from this is never ignore a friend you never know when they really need you.
