anzuello May 04, Ben rated it liked it Shelves: First and foremost, this is a very cumbersome and confusing play. As is noted by the previous reader, much of this would translate better pun intended to the stage, as opposed to simply into an English printed text.

Scenes blend into each other with abandon, and the often obtuse language leaves the reader a bit lost presumably the setting, transitions, and physical movements of the actors would help alleviate this. T First and foremost, this is a very cumbersome and confusing play.

Each main character has at least one supporting character equivalent to the abzueloand these roles could be greatly diminished. There is some fun playing with gender roles, especially as more and more of the characters realize that Don Juan is actually a woman, and they begin to get in on the irony of Fenisa falling in love with a woman.

I definitely think there is a very fun production hidden in here, and looking for someone to try a new feniss is a good idea. With a slightly smaller cast, pared down text, and clearer plotting, I think it has the potential to be a dw funny, lighthearted show. You know, the kind in which the bad guy, who seems to finally have begun to gain a tiny smidge of humanity, gets their comeuppance at the end and everyone else walks off happily into the sunset.
